As a result of our Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) P.O.W.E.R.+ Initiative Building a Peer Support Workforce in PA, PaPSC is pleased to announce this free training opportunity that will provide 18.0 hours of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) Approved continuing education for Peer Based Professionals (CPS, CRS, CFRS, CCHW)

Like the other skill enhancement trainings in Pennsylvania (forensics, veterans, older adults, etc.) this training is designed to give the participants extra skills to specialize in a particular service area.

This training is specifically designed to prepare Peer Based Professionals to work in crisis services (telephone, mobile, walk-in, and residential). Topics covered include the Mental Health Procedures Act, roles and responsibilities of a CPS in crisis services, de-escalation, suicide assessment and prevention, and the importance of self-care for Peer Based Professionals.
